Lend your dad wisdom to someone who needs it.
Why Join the Dad Letter Project?
Every day, we hear from people who need a Dad. Someone to encourage them, cheer them on, or simply remind them they matter. The Dad Letter Project is about leaning in and stepping up, one handwritten letter at a time. Whether you’re a dad, a granddad, or simply someone with a heart for others, your words can make a real difference.
We’re looking for dads who are kind, dependable, and ready to share their wisdom, humor, and heart. You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to show up with intention. (Actually, we prefer imperfect).
How can I apply to become a dad writer?
At the Dad Letter Project, care and human connection are at the center of everything we do. That's true for the people who receive our letters — and it's equally true for the dads who write them.
We’re excited about the dad writer volunteer experience that we’re designing: an application, screening, onboarding and support experience that honors every member of our Dad Letter Project community. When our Dad Writer application opens, it’ll be an experience where every dad who steps up and leans in for this community will feel welcomed, prepared, and genuinely supported — from the moment they submit their application through orientation, their first letter match, and every letter that follows.
Interested in joining us when applications reopen? Leave your email below and we'll reach out as soon as we relaunch the dad writer application. We can’t wait to welcome more volunteer dad writers into the Dad Letter Project community.

Stay as Involved as You Want
You can write a few letters a month or ten letters a week, it’s up to you. Life changes, and we’re flexible with you. We’ll check in from time to time, and if you want to connect with other dads in the project, we’d love that too.
