My name is David, and I'm a 63 year old retired social worker from Michigan. I've been married 41 years and have a 40 year old daughter (still can't believe that!). We have two cats, Jasmine and Zoey and two Corgi granddogs, Zuzu and Bailee.

I've been a letter writer since I was in grade school. I kept a close letter writing relationship with a young friend, Rob, when four miles between us seemed like a long distance. He was tragically killed in the Marines at 22, and I've written a lot of servicemen since his passing. I currently am writing a man in prison.

I heard about the Dad Letter Project on CBS National News and thought I'd like to help others out by sending them meaningful letters. I was very impressed to hear of a dad writing his family members daily and then wanting to share his gift of letter writing to improve others' lives.
